A feast for the nose and stomach at the Rosewood Hotel

Few “one of kind” experiences turn out to be unique after all, but this one smells like the real deal. Rosewood Hotel & Resorts is pairing food and perfume in a series of “scent dinners” during the next month in Santa Fe, N.M.; Dallas; New York; and Los Cabos, Mexico.

The dinners, limited to about a dozen participants, are hosted by chefs at each site and by Chandler Burr, author of “The Emperor of Scent: A Story of Perfume, Obsession and the Last Mystery of the Senses.” Burr and the chefs will match up perfumes with dishes such as free-range suckling pig and “mezquite” baked baguette (see, we told you it was different). Prices vary by location -- $140 per person in Santa Fe and $200 in New York, not including tax and gratuity. Info: (888) ROSEWOOD (767-3966) or www.rosewoodhotels.com.
