The big tubing park is open at Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood, about 90 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. Tickets for children 36 to 42 inches tall are $15 with a paying adult. Prices for everyone over 42 inches tall are $20 for two hours and $35 for a full-day. Note that children under 36 inches tall are not permitted for safety reasons. For info, click here. . . . . The National Forest Service has issued the first two permits to outfitters to lead ice-climbing trips: Jackson Hole Mountain Guides from Jackson, Wyo. and Southwest Adventure Guides of Durango, Colo. . . . The 10th Annual Los Angeles Kings 5-K Run takes place Jan. 21, a Saturday, near Staples Center. A portion of the event’s proceeds will go to the American Heart Assn. Travel stat of the day: A projected 43.3 million air travelers will fly on U.S. carriers for both domestic and international routes during the three-week holiday period, according to an airline industry trade organization. That’s a 1% drop from the same period last year, which translates to about 20,000 fewer travelers on average per day.
