Kourtney Hodgins (2-2) allowed one hit and had 10 strikeouts in five innings and Carla Arreola had a three-run home run in the second for Birmingham (5-2), which scored 10 runs in the inning.

Jennifer Hodrick threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and no walks for Westchester (4-2), which allowed two baserunners on errors. Dean Woods had three hits and scored twice and Hodrick doubled in two runs. The game was Crenshaw’s opener.

Sara Ramirez had a two-run double for host Alemany (2-3).

Samantha Marder hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning and Allison Ando hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth for host Calabasas (2-2). Taft is 4-2.

Danira Iolamo (4-0) allowed no hits and had 10 strikeouts and no walks in five innings of relief and got the win for host Carson. Christina Schallig went three for four at the plate with a three-run home run and finished with four RBIs for the Colts (5-0). Long Beach Poly is 0-2.

San Pedro 10, West Torrance 1
Ashley Esparza and Courtney Lyons combined for a no-hitter -- Esparza had seven strikeouts in five innings and Lyons had six stikeouts in two innings -- for San Pedro (5-1). Host West Torrance (2-2) scored on a fielding error. Leslie Joi-Allen had four RBIs for San Pedro.

Garfield 8, Eagle Rock 7 (9 innings)
Senior Erika Alvarez hit the game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the ninth for Garfield (6-0), scoring a runner on second base. With host Garfield trailing, 7-5, in the seventh inning, Alvarez hit a two-run homer to send the game into extra innings. Junior Kathleen Fuentes was four for four with three RBIs for Garfield.

L.A. University 2, Grant 1
Vanessa Hernandez threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts, allowing one unearned run, to lead host L.A. Univeristy (5-1).

Lake Balboa Birmingham 14, Venice 1
Pauline Morquecho (3-0) threw a four-hitter and struck out 13, Brecken Bronner went four for four with a double, two runs and two stolen bases and Christina Campos went three for four with three runs scored and two RBIs to lead host Birmingham (4-2).

Donetta Tedford went four-for-four with two home runs, four RBIs and six stolen bases and Viveca Ycoy pitched a six-hitter with nine strikeouts and went three for three at the plate for visiting Locke (2-0).

Sarah Maciel (5-0) pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and Brittany Garland hit a bases-loaded triple in the second inning for host Narbonne (5-1). Dorsey is 2-3.

Melissa Tachias hit her fourth home run of the season and Vennessa Perez had a double and four RBIs for visiting Sun Valley Poly (5-1). Sasha Snyder (4-0) pitched a six-hitter with five strikeouts for the Parrots. L.A. Marshall drops to 4-1.

Pitcher Erin Anderson went three for five with two RBIs and second baseman Tiesha Thomas scored four runs for visiting Dorsey (2-3).

Sophomore Megan Miller threw a two hitter, striking out seven and walking only one to improve to 2-1 for the visiting Conquistadores (2-1). Sophomore catcher Francesca Enea had two hits, including a double, and one run batted in for El Camino Real. Granada Hills Kennedy falls to 1-4.

Gardena 11, Roosevelt 0
Junior Kristin Gormen pitched one-hitter and had seven strike outs in a complete game and sophomore Dovie Tuli went two for three with two homeruns, four RBIs and two runs scored for host Gardena (5-0). In five games and 19 plate appearances, Tuli is 14 for 16 with four home runs, 25 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

Junior Jennifer Hodrick had eight strike outs and sophomore Kristen Robinson added two strike outs to combine on a perfect game and DeNean Woods was four for four with six RBIs and a two-run home run to lead visiting Westchester (3-2) over Grant (2-1).

Starting pitcher Veronica Barth gave up only hit in four innings and hit a home run and Joanna McCoy added a triple for host Chaminade (2-1). Van Nuys is 2-1.

Juinor third baseman Joi Allen had four hits, two runs and an RBI and Ashley Esparza threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts in the first game for Pedro (4-1). Wilson (1-2) overcame a 3-0 deficit in the first inning to win the second game.
