Cyclists draft off of one other through an 80-lap points race at the Southern California Masters Track Championships on June 9 at the Encino Velodrome in this photo by Wade Hewitt.
A points race involves a large number of riders, with sprints every few laps. Points are awarded to the top finishers in each lap, and any riders who lap the main pack. The highest point total at the end of the race wins.
Hewitt made the image with a T3i, and with the bright conditions was able to shoot at 1/125 f/20 at ISO 100, with an 18mm lens.
