The two deaths inside a Fullerton home have been blamed on a 40-year-old man who fatally stabbed a 12-year-old girl and then committed suicide, police said Wednesday.

The relationship between Damian Camillo Flores and Janette Jimenez, whose parents rented him a room, had increasingly concerned her family before their bodies were found Tuesday afternoon, Sgt. Linda King said.

Last month, she said, Janette’s parents had asked Flores to move out, and he was in the process of doing so. King declined to characterize Flores’ interest in Janette or say whether she had been sexually molested.

Police said Flores was left alone with Janette on Tuesday after her parents left for work about 5 a.m.

Alberto Jimenez, the girl’s father, found her near death when he returned to the home in the 3600 block of West Valencia Drive shortly after 1:30 p.m. Janette, who was stabbed numerous times, died before paramedics arrived. Flores was found dead by authorities, his wrists slashed with a knife.

Flores first came in contact with the Jimenez family nine years ago when he met Alberto at work. Two years later, King said, Flores moved in, renting a room from the wages he earned at a shipping center. Recently, police said, Flores gave a puppy and other gifts to Janette.
