Football: Corona Centennial makes it to final of Redondo tournament

Corona Centennial never wins a passing tournament.

“It would curse us,” Coach Matt Logan said.

So the fact the Huskies made it to the championship game of the Redondo tournament on Saturday should be a warning.

The Huskies lost to an all-star team made up of mostly Bishop Gorman players in the final at Redondo High School. Quarterback Tate Martell held court for the winning team.

But Logan was particularly pleased with his new starting quarterback, junior to be Tanner McKee, who’s 6 feet 6.

“He was phenomenal,” Logan said.

The Huskies also have plenty of receivers in Troy Spencer, Justin Fisher, Xavier Marshall, Manny Allen, Tyjon Lindsey and running back Miles Reed.
