Clippers’ Eric Gordon returns to L.A. to visit doctors

Injured shooting guard Eric Gordon has returned to Los Angeles for another round of visits to doctors, Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro said.

Yes, that’s right.

Doctors.

There is the Clippers’ doctor and then the one he is seeing, apparently, at the suggestion of his management team. Del Negro said Gordon, who has been sidelined since Jan. 22, flew to Los Angeles from Miami on Monday.

Gordon is dealing with a sprained right wrist and bone chip fracture.

“He’s getting looked at [Tuesday],” Del Negro said. “We’ll see what the doctor says. He’s getting better.”

There was a hint, finally, that center Chris Kaman was inching along and making progress.

“He’s healing. He’s feeling better,” Del Negro said. “Then it’s just the tolerance of pain and when he can get out there. We’ve got some good reports back from the doctor and now it’s just day to day as we move forward. It’s really up to him in terms of how he feels out there.”

Etc.

Rookie reserve guard Willie Warren, assigned last week to the D-League, has had strong outings in his first two games with the Bakersfield Jam in victories Friday and Saturday.

Warren had 22 points Friday on seven-for-10 shooting from the field, and had 24 points and 10 assists off the bench Saturday.

“It’s a good opportunity for him to play, get in shape, get some minutes — it’s a development league for a reason,” Del Negro said.

Clippers guard Randy Foye will have his Villanova No. 2 jersey retired Saturday morning by the school.
