Clippers’ Eric Gordon is expected to return Wednesday

Who needs practice anyway?

It’s not as though one of the newest Clippers will have a choice.

Point guard Mo Williams will end up playing two games for the Clippers without completing a full official practice. The delay in making his trade official allowed him to participate only in Monday’s shoot-around in Sacramento.

And his sprained ankle from the Kings game kept him out of Tuesday’s practice at the Clippers’ training facility. Nevertheless, Williams will play Wednesday night against Houston and it looks as though it will be alongside shooting guard Eric Gordon.

Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro said he expects Gordon to return against the Rockets, which would be Gordon’s first action in a little more than a month. Gordon sat out 18 games because of an injured right wrist; the Clippers were 4-14 during his absence.

This will be the first time for Clippers fans to see Williams and Jamario Moon in action since they arrived in last week’s trade for Baron Davis.

“It felt great, till I sprained my ankle,” said Williams who had 16 points in almost 36 minutes Monday in Sacramento.

Playing with Blake Griffin, obviously, is a lot different than watching him, via highlights. Griffin was given Tuesday’s practice off in order to rest from an intense schedule.

“Me and Blake have been talking all day,” Williams said. “Just try to get better acquainted. We played our first game so we got a chance to talk about a lot of situations that we … could do different that would be better for both of us. [So] we could know what each other is doing.

“The good thing about it is, we have a great communication level right now. We’re only going to grow better and better.”

Williams happens to be a natural communicator.

“I’m a big talker — especially inside the lines,” he said. “I know a lot about the game and I always try to see things and communicate it.”

Del Negro said he planned to meet with center DeAndre Jordan and rookie guard Willie Warren about their emotional tweets following the game at Sacramento on Monday night.

Warren posted on his account that it was getting to the point where he wanted to go to school and live a normal life, and it was clear he was upset about this season. Warren, who played with Griffin at Oklahoma, has played in only 19 games this season.

Jordan tweeted, “they love you when you’re up and hate you when you’re down.”

“I don’t think the DJ thing was directed at anything,” Del Negro said. “That will be addressed. I’ll meet with them. I think it was more emotional [with Warren]. He’s a kid. He’s got a long way to go.

“[Twitter] is ridiculous stuff. It has very little bearing on anything as far as I’m concerned. When you have issues, you keep them in-house and talk about them.”
