Bryan Jordan scored in the 76th minute to lift the Galaxy to a 1-1 tie with the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night in front of 15,862.

Pablo Campos scored in the first half for San Jose (1-1-2).

The Galaxy (0-1-3) tied the score when Jordan took a pass from Landon Donovan and headed a shot past goalkeeper Joe Cannon.

Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts held Chivas USA without a goal in a scoreless tie last week when he made his MLS debut after sitting out the first two games because of groin and shoulder injuries. With Campos barreling down the field unimpeded, Ricketts couldn’t get the stop in his bid for consecutive shutouts.

As they did last year, the Earthquakes moved both of their games against the Galaxy to Oakland to accommodate what they had expected to be a large turnout to see David Beckham with the Galaxy. Last year, San Jose drew crowds of 39,872 and 26,071 for games against the Galaxy and Beckham.

Beckham threw everyone a curve this year when he decided he wanted to extend his stay with AC Milan in Italy’s Serie A.
