Muhammad Ali admitted to hospital for follow-up care
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali was readmitted to the hospital Thursday for follow-up care related to a severe urinary tract infection, according to his spokesman.
Reports that the three-time former heavyweight champion was rushed to the hospital unresponsive are not true, Ali spokesman Bob Gunnell told The Times.
This is Ali’s second time in the hospital in the last four weeks, but he is expected to be released Friday, Gunnell said.
Ali was hospitalized on Dec. 20 for the same infection.
Ali will turn 73 on Saturday. He plans to celebrate at home with family, Gunnell said.
