Jennifer Lopez announces her blockbuster residency in Las Vegas

Jennifer Lopez will include multiple career facets, such as movies and music, in her 20-date show

Call her J. Lo, Jenny from the Block or simply Jennifer Lopez. The singer, actress and judge on “American Idol” settles into a headlining residency at the Axis Theater inside Planet Hollywood Resort starting on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016.

"I've been preparing for this moment my entire life,” Lopez says in a press statement. “The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love — dance, hip hop, Latin and pop. It’s going to be the show I’ve always dreamt of creating.”

The nearly two-hour show will feature all her hit songs such as “I’m Real,” “Ain’t It Funny” and “If You Had My Love.” A live band, dancers, costumes and special effects are all promised for the show that starts with 20 dates. The former Fly Girl on “In Living Color” says her shows in Las Vegas will be “the only opportunity to see her perform live in North America.”

Expect to see all aspects of her career, including her roles as a movie star, dancer, pop star and more.

Lopez picks up when pop star Britney Spears departs; her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort comes to a close on New Year’s Eve.

Tickets for the first 20 performances start at $59 and go on sale on Saturday, May 16.

So far, dates are announced for Jan. 20, 22, 23, 27, 29 and 30; Feb. 3, 5, 6 and 9; May 22, 25, 28, and 29; and June 1, 3, 4, 8, 11 and 12.
