Share

A La Puente man who allegedly sold at least 100 businessmen in the San Gabriel Valley applications to become ticket agents for the California State Lottery has been arrested, El Monte police said. Santiago Figueroa, 36, was taken into custody for selling the fake applications for $45 each, investigators said. The buyers believed they would become authorized lottery ticket agents once they paid the money and completed the form, police said. But the state Lottery Commission has yet to be formed and no one is authorized to sell applications.
