Foothill High School, still smarting from an upset loss in the finals of the Marina-Edison tournament last week, took out its aggressions on Magnolia Wednesday night, destroying the Sentinels, 80-27, in the opening round of the Cypress Tournament.

The Knights held Magnolia’s high-scoring center Michelle Carter, who had been averaging 38 points a game, to 13 points. Carter had scored 50 points on two occasions this season, but made only 6 of 17 shot attempts Wednesday, due in large part to a swarming Foothill zone.

Foothill’s Jennifer Osur had 17 points, while guard Felice Geddy added 12 points, Three other Foothill players scored in double figures, center Chris McFerson had 11, and forwards Jill Osur and Cheryl Bonner each had 10.
