Titan Wrestlers Third at State Tournament
The Cal State Fullerton wrestling team placed third in the All-California Tournament at San Francisco State Saturday with 52 3/4 points.
Fullerton’s Dan Coates, 190-pound weight class winner, won an award for the most falls (pins) in the least amount of time. Coates beat Dave Zgombic of Chico State, 3-2, in the 190-pound final. The Titans’ Mitch Pagano was second in the 150-pound weight class.
Cal State Bakersfield won the tournament with 88 3/4 points and Stanford was second with 84 points. Fullerton meets Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Friday night in the Titan Gym.
