Chapman Loses to Northridge, 3-2

Jimmy Mitchell’s infield single drove in Bryant Long in the top of the eighth inning Wednesday to lift Cal State Northridge to a 3-2 victory over Chapman in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. game played at Hart Park at Orange.
Tom Harmon pitched a complete-game, five-hitter for the Matadors to improve his record to 4-1. Rob Glisson, who pitched the final four innings for the Panthers, took the loss and is 4-4.
Gary Williams went 2 for 3 for Northridge, which improved to 4-1 in conference and 20-7-1 overall, while Scott Lockwood had two singles for Chapman, which is 3-2 and 13-8.
