Unbeaten Mater Dei Moves to Top of Poll

Undefeated Mater Dei High School moved to the top of this week’s Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep baseball poll after earning convincing victories last week against Bishop Amat and Bishop Montgomery in Angelus League play.

Canyon slipped to No. 2 following its first loss, a dropping a 2-1 decision in nine innings to Santa Ana. The Saints vaulted into sixth place in the rankings.
