Channel Islands High gave undefeated Simi Valley a scare, but the Pioneers managed to emerge Wednesday with a 6-5 Marmonte League victory at home.
Trailing, 6-3, in the seventh inning, Channel Islands scored twice and loaded the bases before Simi Valley pitcher Sean Harrigan induced a game-ending double play.
Harrigan (5-0) pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs on eight hits. He struck out seven and walked three.
Eric Fischer paced the Simi Valley offense with a triple and double for two runs batted in. Teammate Sean Murphy added a triple.
