Mission Viejo’s Adams Tosses the Shot 46-9

Heidi Adams of Mission Viejo High School recorded a 46-foot 9-inch throw in the shotput in a dual meet against Irvine at Mission Viejo Thursday, good for third best in the nation by a high school girl this season. Irvine’s Elaina Oden was second in the shot with a throw of 45-6 1/2.

The meet, a showdown of unbeaten teams in the South Coast League, was won by Mission Viejo, 80-47. The Diablos raised their record to 5-0, while the Vaqueros fell to 4-1.
