1985 Federation Cup Draws Record Field
A record 41 nations have entered the Women’s Federation Cup team tennis competition scheduled for Oct. 6-13 in Nagoya, Japan, the International Tennis Federation announced.
Defending champion Czechoslovakia will send the foursome of Hana Mandlikova, Helena Sukova, Iva Buderova and Marcela Skuherska that has produced two straight championships. Czechoslovakia defeated the United States and West Germany in Zurich, Switzerland, two years ago, and beat Australia in last year’s final in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
