The kidnaping and sexual assault of a 6-year-old Arcadia girl may be linked to other cases reported in Southern California in the last several months, Los Angeles police said Saturday.

The girl was taken from her home between 12:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. Thursday by a man who pried open a bedroom window. Rampart Division officers found the girl abandoned at Union Avenue and 1st Street near downtown Los Angeles at 4:30 a.m. She was wearing her pajamas, men’s socks and a Windbreaker believed to have been given to her by her abductor, police said.

The girl described her assailant as a white male with black hair, between 35 and 45 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds and possibly driving a brown car with a white top.

Police said the description of the girl’s abductor was similar to the description of a man wanted in the other cases.
