Strings Lose to Oakland in TeamTennis, 25-17
Chris Dunk and Barbara Jordan of the Oakland Aces defeated Vince Van Patten and Anne White, 6-1, in mixed doubles Wednesday night as Oakland beat the Los Angeles Strings, 25-17, in a TeamTennis match.
The Strings’ White and Pam Teeguarden defeated Jordan and Sharon Walsh, 6-4, in women’s doubles, while White defeated Walsh, 6-3, in singles.
In men’s singles, the Aces’ Marty Davis defeated Van Patten, 6-3. The men’s doubles team of Dunk and Davis defeated the Strings’ Van Patten and Ron Case, 6-1.
The Strings (-4) will play their next match at Chicago Friday night. Oakland is tied for first place with San Diego in the TeamTennis standings with a 4-1 record.
