A fire early Wednesday caused $500,000 in damage to a mattress factory, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.
Fifteen firefighter companies were sent to Galaxy Industries at 7621 S. Industry Ave., after a 3:19 a.m. alarm, a department spokesman said. The blaze was brought under control by 4:05 a.m. The 10,000-square-foot structure was gutted by the fire and its roof collapsed, the spokesman said. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
