Baker and Morgan Pace San Clemente to 28-0 Win
Alex Baker and Dan Morgan both scored two touchdowns, and San Clemente High School took advantage of six Savanna turnovers Thursday night to post a 28-0 victory over the Rebels in Glover Stadium at Anaheim.
Baker, a senior quarterback who missed most of last season with a broken wrist, scored on runs of 3 and 12 yards in the first half to lead the Tritons to a 12-0 halftime advantage. Baker’s first scoring run was set up by Felipe Medina’s fumble recovery at the Triton 37-yard line.
Morgan opened the second half by rushing 19 yards over left tackle to cap a 66-yard scoring drive. Baker teamed up with Morgan on the conversion to give San Clemente a 20-0 lead.
Morgan scored again with 10:19 left in the game when he took a pitch from Baker and sprinted 25 yards around left end, completing a five-play drive that covered 66 yards.
