The vacations are over for Eric Dickerson and Greg Meisner.

After they had their first heavy practices with the Rams Thursday, Coach John Robinson said that Dickerson would “probably” start at Seattle Monday night and Meisner would play part of the game at nose tackle, his starting position last season.

“There’s no choice,” Robinson said. “That’s one of the disadvantages of holding out. We’re at a stage where everybody has to play.”

Dickerson said: “I think I can go a full game, or most of a game. I’m in good shape.”

Meisner said: “If I had to, I think I could play half a game. I’d try to play a whole game until I dropped.”

Dickerson rejoined the team last weekend. Meisner, whose contract expired after last season, finally signed a new three-year agreement Wednesday, believed to call for $150,000, $165,000 and $180,000--less the two games he missed, dropping his ’85 salary to $131,250.

Dickerson will not be docked for missing two games.

Meisner said he will still be among the lowest-paid nose tackles in the National Football League.

Meisner, a third-round draft choice out of the University of Pittsburgh in 1981, last season was paid $88,000, a salary he called “peanuts.”

“Everybody on our starting defense is well over $200,000,” Meisner claimed. “The average salary for starting noses around the league is $300,000.”

The current starting nose tackle is Charles DeJurnett, 33, backed up by Shawn Miller, a second-year free agent from Utah State.

Ram Notes Running back A.J. Jones and defensive end Booker Reese were waived Thursday to make room on the roster for the return of Eric Dickerson and nose tackle Greg Meisner. . . . Mike Guman (knee) was placed on injured reserve, allowing the Rams to bring back center-guard Tony Slaton. That gives the offensive line some reserve strength. Guard Dennis Harrah, who has a torn thigh muscle, is listed as “doubtful” for Monday night’s game. Slaton, originally a sixth-round choice of Buffalo in 1984, spent most of last season on injured reserve with the Rams.
