Local News in Brief : Girl, 3, Killed by Cyclist on Van Nuys Boulevard
A 3-year-old girl was killed when she was struck by a motorcycle, and the motorcyclist was in critical condition Monday evening, after the girl and her baby sitter tried to cross Van Nuys Boulevard in Panorama City in the middle of a block at rush hour, Los Angeles police said.
The girl, who was not identified, died at the scene in the 8900 block of Van Nuys Boulevard, police said. The motorcyclist, described only as a man about 25 years old, was in critical condition with head injuries at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, a hospital spokeswoman said. The female baby sitter suffered a broken leg in the 6:30 p.m. crash, the spokeswoman said.
