Harvard High, after losing three straight games, upset Agoura, 27-13, leaving many of the 200 spectators at Harvard wondering Saturday what had happened.

Appropriately, it was Harvard’s 5-4 tailback, Alex Huh, who led the Saracens with 102 yards rushing on 19 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Huh would have scored three times, but a 15-yard penalty in the second quarter nullified a 20-yard touchdown run.

Huh’s teammate, junior running back Andy Bell, rushed for 117 yards on 13 carries.

“They were hungry for a win,” Agoura Coach Frank Greminger said. “And they’re used to playing in the heat (101 degrees Saturday).”

The Chargers, The Times’ No. 10 team in the Valley, haven’t played a day game in two years.

Not only is Harvard (1-3) used to the heat, but Huh likes it. Harvard had an unusual home advantage because it is accustomed to a strong north wind every afternoon.

Huh’s first touchdown was set up when Harvard recovered a fumble by quarterback Jon DeGennaro on the Charger 35-yard line. Huh capped the drive with an eight-yard run. Dom Sandifer kicked the extra point to give the Saracens a 7-0 lead.

Agoura came back when Harvard quarterback Cory Thabit was intercepted by Michael Eckel with 7:20 left in the half. That set up DeGennaro’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Donnie Rea two minutes later. Robert Sahm’s kick tied the score, 7-7.

With 52 seconds left in the half, Thabit threw a 69-yard touchdown pass to Merritt Robinson, making it, 14-7.

Huh gave Harvard a 20-7 lead on a three-yard run that capped a 51-yard drive in the third quarter. Sandifer missed the PAT.

Thabit, who rushed for negative yardage as a result of three sacks by Don Koch, ran seven yards for a touchdown with 7:01 left in the third quarter.

Agoura (2-2) made one last attempt to cool the Saracen’s heels two minutes later with an 11-yard touchdown run by DeGennaro, but the two-point conversion try failed.
