The injury to Utah Jazz guard Darrell Griffith is worse than originally thought, and he probably won’t be able to play for the NBA club until the first of next year, team officials said.
“Assuming the best, he’ll be out 12 weeks,” said Dave Checketts, team president.
Griffith, a holdout, broke a bone on his foot last Thursday while working out in a Louisville, Ky., gym.
Team Dr. Lyle Mason examined the report of Louisville doctors and concluded that Griffith suffered a stress fracture, not a simple crack.
