Golf Roundup : Hoch Retains 2-Shot Lead by Shooting 67

Scott Hoch shot a five-under-par 67 Saturday to retain a two-stroke lead after three rounds of the $400,000 Walt Disney World golf tournament on three courses at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Hoch, playing with a sore shoulder, made six birdies and a bogey, and had a 199 total for 54 holes.

“I just struggled to get in. Luckily, I birdied the last two holes,” said the 29-year-old golfer who plays out of Bay Hill Country Club in Orlando, Fla.

Mike Donald made a charge, shooting a 66 for a 201 that moved him into second place.

Briton Ken Brown and Payne Stewart were four strokes back, while Andy Bean, Lanny Wadkins, Tom Kite and Craig Stadler were at 204. The tournament winds up today on the Magnolia course.

Mike Fetchick, who has yet to win in five years on the PGA Seniors Tour, shot his second 69 to take the second-round lead in the Hilton Head Seniors International on the Planter’s Row course at Hilton Head Island, S.C., with a 138 total.

He was one stroke ahead of Dan Sikes, who had a 67, and Al Chandler, who had a 68.

Peter Thomson, the first-round leader at 66, struggled home with an 80 and is tied with Arnold Palmer at 146.
