Downtown Bus Crash Injures 16
A Southern California Rapid Transit District bus carrying 62 people collided with a truck at a busy downtown intersection this morning, injuring 16 people, officials said.
RTD spokeswoman Usha Viswanathan said the bus was northbound on Vermont Avenue near 9th Street when a southbound truck cab swerved to avoid a stopped vehicle and smashed into the side of the bus. Eight people were taken to hospitals after the 6:36 a.m.
