2nd Mild Earthquake Hits Eastern Seaboard

NEW YORK —
A mild earthquake jolted people awake today from Connecticut to northern New Jersey, two days after a minor quake struck the same area.
Claus Jacob, a senior scientist at Lamont-Doherty Geological Observatory in Palisades, N.J., said the tremor, which occurred at 6:27 a.m. and was centered in Westchester County, N.Y., was an aftershock of Saturday’s quake and registered about 3.0 on the Richter scale.
