World chess champion Anatoly Karpov and challenger Gary Kasparov adjourned the 20th game of their title match Saturday when Kasparov sealed his 41st move in a position experts decribed as likely to lead to a draw.

Kasparov surprised observers for the second game in a row by revealing his sealed move to the audience before leaving the board. The move was r:e2 check (RxR ch). Play will resume today.

Kasparov first disclosed a sealed move in the 19th game, played Thursday, in a display of confidence unprecedented in world championship play. On Friday, Karpov resigned that game without resuming play, giving the challenger a formidable two-point lead, 10 1/2-8 1/2. The first player to score six victories, or the one who is ahead after 24 games, wins the title.
