Tustin : Boyfriend Arrested After Wounding of Woman

A woman was shot once in the head at a Tustin motel Saturday morning, and her boyfriend was arrested minutes later on a charge of attempted murder, police said.
The victim, Denise D. Jones, 21, address unknown, was in critical condition on life-support systems at Western Medical Center, Santa Ana, and was not expected to survive, Lt. Walt Wedemeyer said.
Jones, a registered guest at the Sixpence Inn, was unconscious when police arrived, Wedemeyer said.
Tustin police arrested Kenneth J. Ray, 21, of Compton at the motel shortly after midnight, he said. The suspect was booked at the Orange County Jail.
“Circumstances that led to the shooting are unclear, and the case is still under investigation,” Wedemeyer said.
