Saddleback Will Play in PONY Bowl

Saddleback College on Thursday accepted an invitation to play in the fifth PONY Bowl Dec. 7 in LeBard Stadium, Bill Kelly, Saddleback dean of students, announced.
The Gauchos (9-0), who have clinched at least a tie for the Mission Conference championship, and Orange County rival Fullerton (6-2) were issued invitations Tuesday.
The Pac-9 Conference-leading Hornets are also expected to accept if they defeat last-place Mt. San Antonio Saturday. Fullerton will announce its decision by noon on Sunday, said Keith Calkins, Saddleback’s director of health, recreation and physical education and PONY Bowl manager.
