SCC Opens With 128-53 Victory

Rob Lucas scored 22 points and Ty Myles added 20 to lead Southern California College to a 128-53 rout of Wassuck College in the Vanguards’ season opener Thursday night at SCC.
The Vanguards, who shot 72% from the floor (62 of 86), took a 26-3 lead and were never challenged.
Wassuck, which had only seven players--all freshmen--hit only 7 of 33 shots in the first half and trailed, 64-19, at the half. This is the first season of intercollegiate basketball at the Hawthorne, Nev., school.
Myles, Mike Lightfoot and Barry Silvers each had 9 rebounds and Chris O’Felt had 10 assists for the Vanguards.
SCC will play Humboldt State in the opening round of the Cal Poly Pomona tournament today at 5:30.
