Mt. Carmel rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit Tuesday to beat Madison, 56-47, in what may be the first of three meetings between the girls’ basketball teams over the next 11 days.

If Mt. Carmel (3-1) and Madison (2-1) both win today in the first round of the Mt. Carmel Tournament, they will meet again Friday in the semifinals. Both teams are also entered in Madison’s Warhawk-Coca Cola Tournament, which runs Dec. 26-28.

Madison Coach RaNae Seaman said her team showed its youth Tuesday against Mt. Carmel.

“Our inexperience really showed,” said Seaman, who starts a freshman and a sophomore. “In the first half, our offense did well. It all went downhill from there.”
