2.9 Quake Rattles West L.A.

A minor earthquake shook West Los Angeles this morning, triggering a few phone calls to police and local media but largely going unnoticed by sleeping residents, authorities said. The 5:03 a.m. quake, which measured 2.9 on the Richter scale, was centered two miles north of Santa Monica and was felt from Bel-Air to Playa del Rey. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
