Desert Edges Past Valley Women, 55-50
College of the Desert defeated Valley College, 55-50, Friday night at Valley College.
With 3:48 left in the game and the score tied at 46, sophomore foward Sondra Roy hit two free throws to put the Roadrunners ahead for good. The Monarchs never got closer than two points after that.
Mary Jo led the Monarchs with 16 points while Tina Johnson and Jill Daniels combined for 23. Stephanie Lemar led the Roadrunners with a game-high 20 points while Roy added 13 points and pulled down a game-high 20 rebounds.
