Bulldozing of a collection of makeshift shacks in San Francisco was halted by Mayor Dianne Feinstein, who said the nearly two dozen people living there would have to be relocated first. “We want to find you a better place,” Feinstein told John Arias, 40, who founded the shantytown known as The Jungle on city land in the China Basin industrial area in 1982. Many of the residents do not want to leave because the tiny settlement has electricity.
