Local News in Brief : Van Nuys Flower Shop Damaged by Arson
Arson caused $35,000 in damage to a Van Nuys flower shop late Monday, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
About 40 firefighters from eight engine companies responded to a fire at the Plant and Flower Mart, 5911 N. Sepulveda Blvd., about 11 p.m., department spokesman Greg Acevedo said Tuesday.
An incendiary device started the fire, which caused no injuries and took 21 minutes to control, Acevedo said.
“It was set deliberately, and it’s under investigation,” he said.
