College Softball : Fullerton Wins Sixth Straight, Sweeps UC Riverside

Cal State Fullerton’s third-ranked softball team extended its season-opening win streak to six games Wednesday as the Titans swept a doubleheader from UC Riverside, 3-0 and 1-0, at Titan Field.
Fullerton received outstanding pitching performances in both games, as Susan LeFebvre limited the Highlanders to one hit in the opener and Connie Clark threw a two-hitter in the nightcap. The Titans will host Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday night in another doubleheader beginning at 5.
In community college action:
Rancho Santiago 6, Pasadena 1--Lorraine Kalehuawehe picked up her second win of the season in this nonconference game at Santa Ana. Lorraine’s cousin, Christi Kalehuawehe, led the Dons’ attack with a two-run triple. Rancho Santiago (5-0) plays in the Bakersfield Tournament of Champions this weekend.
Cypress 3, El Camino 1--Kim Moudy went 3 for 3 and Karen Nakamura picked up the win at Cypress. The Chargers (5-4) are at Riverside today.
Saddleback 16, San Diego City College 0--Kelly Thomas hit two triples to lead the Gauchos at home. Lori Methot (2-0) picked up the win. Saddleback is now 5-2.
Citrus 1, Fullerton 0--Cathy Connelly walked with the bases loaded in the second inning, scoring what turned out to be the game’s only run at Fullerton. The Hornets dropped to 1-1.
