Ohio State Beats BYU, Gains NIT Semifinals
Ohio State’s basketball team extended its season and the Buckeye coaching career of Eldon Miller Friday night.
The Buckeyes rolled past Brigham Young, 79-68, to move into next week’s National Invitation Tournament’s final four in New York. The Buckeyes will face Louisiana Tech Monday in a semifinal game at Madison Square Garden.
Miller’s Ohio State coaching career will end with the Buckeyes’ season. He was dismissed by Athletic Director Rick Bay last month.
Ohio State shot just 39% from the floor in the first half, but turnovers kept BYU from catching the Buckeyes, who led, 31-26, at halftime.
The Buckeyes, led by senior forward Brad Sellers’ 15 points and 13 rebounds, dominated the game inside.
