A Rapid Transit District bus collided head-on with a car on a rain-slick street Saturday night in Sun Valley, killing a woman and injuring three other persons, Los Angeles police reported.

The accident occurred about 8:20 p.m. just outside an RTD service lot and garage near the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Branford Street, RTD Spokesman Ray Garcia said.

The bus, which was in the southbound turn lane on Glenoaks, was attempting to turn left into the yard when the car, traveling north, skidded through a puddle and struck the bus head-on, Garcia said.

The names of the victims were not available.

The bus was empty at the time of the collision except for its driver, Floyd Robson, 34, who has been an RTD driver for three years, Garcia said.
