Orange County Prep Baseball : Ocean View, Holdridge Defeat Marina

Share

Ocean View High School scored three runs in the top of the first inning, and junior right-hander David Holdridge limited Marina to three hits over his five innings as the Seahawks took an 8-0 victory Tuesday at Marina.

Ocean View added five more runs in the fifth inning.

Holdridge struck out seven and walked only two before giving way to a pair of relievers. The Seahawks raised their Sunset League record to 6-1-1 and overall mark to 12-4-1.

“When you’re on the road, it’s always good to score some runs early to give your pitcher a cushion. The only reason we took him (Holdridge) out was that the other guys needed some work more than he needed to record the shutout.”
