Whittier 4, The Master’s 3--Whittier’s Mitch Lawbaugh was 2 for 2, scored three runs, walked twice and hit a solo home run. Pitcher Shane Carriger (2-5) suffered the loss for The Master’s.

Junior college baseball scores: College of the Canyons 14, Mission 5--Canyons hammered Mission pitchers for 13 hits including four home runs. Don Erickson led the Cougars (8-1, 23-3 overall) with a double, a home run and four RBIs. . . . Valley 7, Moorpark 3--The Monarchs broke Moorpark’s eight game win streak as Howard Halen went 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 RBIs for Valley.

College Softball

Cal Lutheran 10-10, Christ College 0-4--Kim Peppi pitched a no-hitter, struck out six batters and hit a grand slam in the first game. In the second game, Peppi was 4 for 5, and Becky Wolfe pitched a complete game.

High school softball scores: Reseda 13, Birmingham 11--Wendy Peterson, Ellen Tauber and Sharrago Lattin hit home runs for Reseda. . . . Village Christian 4, L.A. Baptist 2--Michelle Vail pitched a complete game and Village Christian overcame a first-inning deficit to win. . . . Sylmar 7, Kennedy 5--Sylmar scored four runs in the third inning to secure a win. Deanna Monroy pitched a complete game for Sylmar (1-0, 5-1). . . . Burroughs 6, Schurr 0--Burroughs (14--1) sophomore Christy Alves allowed only one hit, struck out 13 batters. . . . El Camino Real 15, Taft 0--Corey Fischer hit a grand slam in the fifth inning for El Camino Real. . . . Thousand Oaks 7, Royal 4--Royal led 4-3 in the top of the sixth but committed five errors and Thousand Oaks was able to score four runs. . . . Hart 3, San Gabriel Valley 0--Hart’s Cyndi Smith allowed four hits, struck out one batter, and walked two batters. . . . Flintridge 10, Sacred Heart of L.A. 5--Flintridge’s Julie Moscicki pitched seven innings, and went 2 of 5 at the plate, including a double and a triple. . . . Sylmar 7, Kennedy 5--Renee Phillips (1 for 3) got the game-winning single in the seventh inning, driving in Cyndy Campbell and Terri Klement for the win. . . . Chatsworth 2, San Fernando 1--Sheri Cohen was 2 for 2, while Elizabeth Ramos was 2 for 4 for Chatsworth. . . . Canoga Park 1, Cleveland 0--Starting pitcher De Dow allowed only two hits and struck out 13 to lead Canoga Park. . . . Village Christian 4, L.A. Baptist 2--Kathi Baker was 2 for 2 and Mary Thomas was 2 for 3 to lead Village Christian to the Alpha League win. . . . Cal Lutheran 8, CS San Bernardino 1--Clark Wulff, Cal Lutheran’s No. 1 singles player, defeated Tim Streck 6-2, 3-6 and 6-1 to lead the Kingsmen.
