Missouri Prep Basketball Star Signs With San Diego State
Alison Smith, a 5-foot 9-inch guard from Troy, Mo., has signed a national letter of intent to attend San Diego State, school officials announced Monday.
Smith averaged 24 points and 8.6 rebounds a game last season to lead Buchanan High School to a 27-4 record and a third-place finish in the Missouri state championships. Smith was Missouri Prep Player of the Year and was named to the first-team All-State squad.
Smith is the first athlete to sign a letter of intent to attend SDSU next fall. Chana Perry, a 6-4 transfer from Northeast Louisiana, and Connie Waikle, a 6-9 transfer from Saddleback College, have made oral commitments to SDSU.
