Wire Electrocutes Man
James Weaver, 49, who went into his backyard in the Silver Lake area to investigate a hissing sound, was electrocuted when he stepped on a downed power line, and his wife, Maria, suffered hand burns trying to save him, authorities said Thursday.
The wire apparently was felled by a palm frond in the 800 block of North Silver Lake Boulevard, fire officials said.
