2 Chapman Soccer Players Voted District Academic Honors

Chapman College soccer goalie Craig Elliott and Panther volleyball captain and MVP Ben Schmidt have been named to the CoSIDA District 8 academic All-American team, the school announced Friday.

Elliott, a junior accounting major from Antioch, Calif., has made the dean’s list six straight semesters and has twice been named to the California Collegiate Athletic Assn.’s all-conference academic team.

Schmidt, a senior sports medicine major from Long Beach, graduated magna cum laude and was also a two-time all-conference academic team member.

The two athletes, who were voted to the team by college sports information directors, are eligible for the national All-American team, which will be announced in late June.
