The Hollywood Kickers lost Tuesday night to Manchester City of England, 3-0, at Birmingham High, after suffering a setback of another kind earlier in the week.

In Cleveland, four Kickers players participated in a tournament that is a prelude to the Major Indoor Soccer League draft. Each was drafted by an MISL team Monday afternoon.

Defender Paul Krumpe was drafted by the Chicago Sting. Forward Mike Getchell and midfielder Doug Swanson were drafted by the Tacoma Stars, and midfielder Louie Cuevas was drafted by the Los Angeles Lazers.

The MISL’s season begins in late October. The Kickers’ summer schedule in the Western Soccer Alliance ends Aug. 16. The drafted players are expected to finish out the WSA schedule.

Coming off an upset of Dundee F.C. of Scotland a week ago, the Kickers fell hard to Manchester on Tuesday. Manchester scored two goals in the first half and one in the second.

The Kickers (2-1-1) will play the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Birmingham High.
