Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash Near Park
A National City man died Thursday in a motorcycle accident near Balboa Park, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Russell Eugene Scott, 28, was driving his motorcycle on the ramp leading from southbound California 163 to southbound Interstate 5 about 1:30 p.m. when he lost control on the curve, a CHP spokeswoman said.
Scott was thrown from the motorcycle when it hit the guardrail. He flew 40 feet through the air. Scott was not wearing a helmet, but one was attached to the motorcycle.
Scott died at the scene.
