Quarter-Horse Meet Opens at Hollypark
Hollywood Park drew an estimated crowd of 15,000 Friday in the opening night of the first quarter-horse meeting ever held in Los Angeles County.
Orangblossomspecial, with jockey John Ward aboard, was a long-shot victor in the first race, paying $18.20.
Kip Didericksen, the leading rider from the recent Los Alamitos meeting, was victorious in the second race, taking first-time starter Merrido to the win.
